The founder of the National Network of Mental Health Leads, Richard Daniel Curtis will be opening the Show with a presentation on the possible futures of the role of Mental Health Leads. He will report on national trends relating to the role and also report analysis of national data on the implementation of mental health and wellbeing strategy in schools and colleges. Based on evidence from the free setting audit available at https://audit.mentalhealthlead.com/, Richard will reflect on the differences between different phases and areas of good practice. A must-attend session for any strategic leader.
Richard Daniel Curtis
Richard Daniel Curtis started his early career in mental health nursing, before moving into teaching and finally moving into the field of developmental psychology. He is the Chair of the National Network of Mental Health Leads, the National Special Educational Needs and Disability Awards and the Mental Health Awards. He was one of the co-authors of the Department for Education statutory mental health curriculum and has written extensively on social and emotional development. Recognised as an authority on mental health in education, he authored the first Mental Health Leaf training in 2017 and has run training for leaders in the topic consistently since 2018.
