Engagement with Different Cultures
June 23 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Free
Statistics highlight a national rise in mental health difficulties amongst children and young people, however, there remains a consistent lack of engagement with mental health services by BME heritage children, young people and their families. This session will explore the complexities of non-engagement and will provide practical and solution focused steps for schools to improve engagement and participation. Whilst the focus of the session is on BME heritage groups these strategies may be extended to other societal groups where culture and identity may impact on accessing mental health and wellbeing support.
